If you thought thatGisele and Tom‘s $50 million pad was pricey, the Fleur de Lys estate begs to differ. The LA property that was listed for sale in 2007 for $125 million has finally found a reported anonymous French billionaire buyer who recently purchased the estate for $102 million — in cash.
This deal marks the most expensive home ever sold in LA county, which really says something, considering all of the celebs that practically live in castles there.
The 100-room and 50,000-square-foot Holmby Hills estate was modeled after Chateau Vaux le Vicomte, a castle outside of Paris, according to Forbes. Sadly, its 3,000-square-foot wine cellar, ballroom, tennis courts and a screening room sat empty for nearly seven years — so how many balls need to be thrown this year to make up for all that lost time?
Jon Hamm and Don Draper may be more alike than we think, based on Jon’s Upper West Side penthouse that’s almost done with renovations. Jon and his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Westfeldt, bought the two-bedroom NYC apartment last April for $2.45 million, and have been renovating its 1,000 square feet ever since.
1,000 square feet isn’t gigantic, especially for such an A-list celebrity couple, but maybe Jon will retain some simplistic and mod decor designs from the Mad Men set, based on the pre-renovation photos.
The penthouse is part of a building designed in 1929 by famed architect Rosario Candela, known for his penthouse and terrace design aesthetics — so Jon and Jennifer are pretty lucky to have two private outdoor decks.
Kate Moss may be the most effortlessly cool and beautiful supermodel ever — so it’s fitting that her NYC apartment from the 1990s (think: her famous Calvin Klein ads and being engaged to Johnny Depp) was equally amazing. Kate rented this uber-chic Greenwich Village carriage house as she rose to fame, and now it’s on the rental market for $19,000 a month.
Complete with 25-foot ceilings, the 1800s-era apartment building still has some original details, like a gorgeous wood-burning fireplace and exposed brick walls.
We wonder who Kate invited over to lounge in the private garden spaces — on two levels…
Pottery Barn just got a new competitor — home furnishing retailer, Birch Lane, launched today and is bringing classic décor and traditional tailoring into your home. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. have been a cute couple for a long time, y’all. The actors started dating in 2000, got married in 2002 and have had the same Bel Air mansion since then — until now. Sarah Michelle and Freddie put their LA home on the market for $5.499 million since they bought a new home in Brentwood, California.
Their starter home is immaculately decorated and charming with seriously amazing perks, so we can see why Sarah Michelle and Freddie decided to stay put for so long. If you’re a newlywed moving into this home, you’ve got a ton of important choices to make — like choosing between lounging in the spa or the sunroom after a hard day.
