Mary-Kate Olsen Is Getting a Grand Engagement Gift on the Upper East Side

We always knew that Mary-Kate Olsen had enviable design taste, but we’re just a tad in awe of her NYC starter home. The fashion icon and her fiance, Olivier Sarkozy, recently purchased a $13.5 million town house on the Upper East Side that was sold by painter David Deutsch, according to the NY Post.

The 8,000-square-foot pad is part of the famed Turtle Bay Gardens, an enclave of town houses where Katharine Hepburn once lived, and hasn’t been on the market since 1961. Mary-Kate has some serious decorating to do, since the house has five bedrooms, an artist’s studio, and let’s not forget the ballroom.
