IHOP’s Banana Bread French Toast
Makes 2 servings
2 large eggs, divided
2 tablespoons milk, divided
4 slices banana bread
1 banana, sliced
4 teaspoons butter
4 tablespoons caramel sauce
freshly grated nutmeg (optional)
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and the milk. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 teaspoon of butter for each slice of banana bread being cooked in the skillet at one time. Dip each slice of banana bread in the egg mixture to coat evenly; flip the slice over to coat the other side. Cook in the hot skillet for about 1 minute on each side. Place 2 cooked slices on each plate and add half the banana slices. Drizzle with caramel sauce and then top with whipped cream and, if desired, a grating of nutmeg.
