Love to Entertain But No Time to Cook? We Found a Fab Solution!
Whether you’re throwing a birthday bash or celebrating your parents thirtieth wedding anniversary, chances are you’ll need food — and lots of it. But making dinner for a crowd isn’t easy when you can barely whip up a stack of pancakes, let alone a puff pastry. That’s where Kitchensurfing comes in.
We stumbled across the customizable catering site Thursday night, when XO Group Inc. Co-Founder Carley Roney, SANDOW EVP of Communications Jessica Kleiman and Allen/Cooper Enterprises Co-Founder Meryl Weinsaft Cooper threw their fourth Media Chicks Mixer at Site/109 on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Sixty guests spent the evening mingling and sampling appetizers ranging from colorful macarons to fresh salmon tartare; all prepped by the culinary tastemakers behind Kitchensurfing.
The site is genius in that it allows users to find the perfect chef for any occasion (and more importantly, any price point). Simply inform them how many guests you’re expecting, what your budget is, and Kitchensurfing will connect you with a chef in your area who meets your criteria. Since services aren’t offered everywhere, you’re only able to utilize Kitchensurfing if you’re in New York, Boston, Chicago or Berlin. And as much as we love takeout, we could get used to the idea of a personal chef on our doorstep. After all, there’s no cleanup necessary.
