5 Beauty Product Swaps for Spring (#4 Is Especially Important!)

promo

There’s more to spring cleaning than getting rid of the old (and, let’s face it, gross) stuff in your house. It’s also time to update your makeup bag! Check out the beauty swaps you need to make right now:

Your Foundation
That heavy foundation that kept your skin super-hydrated all winter long will stress your skin as the weather warms up, says Nikki Robinson, a celeb makeup artist. Instead, choose makeup that will give you a dewy, natural look, such as Kevyn Aucoin’s ‘the sensual skin” tinted balm.

Your Lipstick and Lip Liner
Ditch that creamy lipstick for a gloss, which looks lighter and more natural, says Robinson. Try Laura Mercier’s Lip Glace in “Bare Blush.”

Your Black Eyeliner
Line your lids with a lighter shade (like brown or charcoal), or go bolder with an eyeliner in emerald (we like this one from Sephora).

Your Makeup Brushes
Your makeup brushes collect bacteria that can cause breakouts, says Dr. Marina Peredo, dermatologist and dermatology professor at Mount Sinai University in New York. Wash all of your brushes, or purchase new ones.

Your Moisturizer
Trade your heavy duty moisturizer for lighter one, says Dr. Peredo. If you’re using a heavy cream, switch to a lotion or serum, like Olay’s all-day moisturizer with SPF.
