What Your Facebook Updates Say About Your Relationship (#2 Will Surprise You!)

Be honest: You love to give up-to-the-minute updates about your relationship on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. No detail is off limits, from your mushy pet names for each other to what you two just ate for dinner. But according to Bree Maresca- Kramer, a relationship expert and self-help author, all of this sharing may not be harmless fun–it could actually mean that there’s a problem in your relationship. Get the scoop:

You may be unsure of your relationship.
“When people over-do it on the intimacy details, a lot of times it means they’re feeling insecure about their relationship and need outside validation, in the form of likes and comments, to feel better,” says Maresca-Kramer.

You may need a confidence boost.
How you feel about yourself could be the issue. “Sometimes people seek approval about themselves through social media to feed their low self-esteems,” she says.

You  might be staking your claim.
Women who are worried about the competition publicize all the details of their relationship to keep other women away from their partners, according to Maresca-Kramer.

What to do if you’re this girl? Think about why you may be feeling insecure about your relationship, and reach out to a trusted friend or therapist for help.
