Napkin Rings and Place Cards: Wait ‘Till You See These Inspiring Ideas!
You love to entertain, I love to talk style! For the last six weeks I’ve covered everything you need to know to pull off a table design your friends will absolutely envy, from centerpieces, chairs and lighting ideas to table linens and tableware. Today I’m wrapping up my tabletop series with five inspiring ideas that will help you give your table that sparkling finishing touch, whether you’re entertaining indoors or outdoors. Check ’em out — and let me know what you think!
Put a ring on it. Give your plain linen napkins pizzazz with a special napkin ring. If you’re feeling adventurous you can create your own with ribbons, brooches and other items that you have at home!
A place for everything, or in this case everyone. Place cards are a great way to bring an additional design element to your table. From a simple tented place card to creative cutouts that can sit on the edge of your wine glass to beautiful stones with names drawn on them, there are many options for how to incorporate place cards into your place settings. One great way to put a fresh spin on place cards is to use seasonal fruits, like in the photo above.
What’s on the menu. It is nice for the guests to know what culinary delights are in store for the evening (this can be especially helpful if someone has an allergy you are not aware of!). Integrate your printed menu and napkin ring into one with paper wraps, or hand write it on elegant stationary for a more personal touch.
Sip and stir. Fun drink stirrers or paper straws will not only help your cocktails standout, but also tie them into the overall concept of your table design.
Favors. Providing your guests with a take-away to remember the event can be a nice touch, whether it be a goodie bag of sweet treats or a jar of infused salts that were used in the signature dish on the menu. Although cute trinkets might seem like a good idea at first, something edible is always preferred and is much less likely to be wasted.
