Organization Tip of the Day: Track the Shelf Life of Your Spices

Spices have a two- to four-year shelf life. Label the back of your spice bottles with the purchase date to help make certain that the Oregano you’re cooking with isn’t out of date.
How to do it:
- Set up a spice rack in your kitchen, or designate a drawer for your spice bottles.
- As you buy new spices, add a small, white label to the back (or bottom) of each spice bottle indicating the date it was bought.
Expert tip: Small labels are easy to find at any office store. Try your nearest Staples or Office Max for white ones.
