Organization Tip of the Day: Stuff Pillowcases With Matching Sheets
Photo: Kang KimTidy up your linen closet with this easy bedding trick. Bonus: You won’t have to hunt for matching bedding the next time you’re hosting guests.
How to do it:
- Fold and organize your sheet sets so everything is together — including shams, pillowcases and fitted sheets.
- Stuff the pillowcases with their matching sheets and stack on top of one another.
Expert tip: Use the same approach when organizing towels–tuck washcloths into the folds of larger bath towels.

I tie each sheet set with a long ribbon like a package. It compresses the sheet set, makes each look like a gift with a bow, has a handle to grab the whole set so none fall and flop.
I request when buying items in stores that have ribbon available for free (like bath and body works), so I do not even pay for the ribbon that is used over and over again. There are five of us in the house, so each of us has a color coded ribbon, should anyone have white or same sheet color. I sometimes put the dryer softener in the fold to keep the sheets fresh. When I open my linen closet, it looks like a gift table at a wedding, very fun!!!
