Make Truffle Popcorn That Only Tastes Expensive!

Truffle Popcorn

Popcorn is a movie night staple, but when you add truffle oil and truffle sea salt, it becomes a dinner party-worthy appetizer. Chef James London of New York City’s Co-Op @ The Hotel on Rivington makes the best truffle popcorn we’ve tried–and he’s sharing his recipe with us! Try it out, and let us know what you think.

1 cup popcorn kernels
3 tablespoons blended oil
3 tablespoons truffle sea salt
3 tablespoons truffle oil
2 tablespoons melted butter

In a large pot with a lid, heat oil over medium-high heat until oil is shimmering. Add popcorn and shake vigorously to coat the kernels with oil. Cover pot with lid and shake occasionally, keeping an ear out for the telltale sound of popping corn. In about 5 to 8 minutes, you should hear the first pops. Continue to shake and once popping dies down remove the pot from heat and immediately transfer popcorn to a large mixing bowl. Add truffle oil, sea salt, and melted butter and stir until incorporated. Adjust seasoning to your taste. Enjoy!
