President Obama’s Romantic Acceptance Speech

Around here, we like to say that behind every successful person is a supportive partner. Last night Barack Obama proved our theory when he Tweeted a photo of him and First Lady Michelle Obama embracing after it was announced that he had won Ohio. (That Tweet is now the most popular Tweet ever, with 650,153 retweets as of 9 a.m., according to Forbes.)  It was at that moment that the president’s fate was sealed — he had won the election and would therefore serve a second term as president.

The president could have Tweeted out anything at that pivotal moment, but he chose to celebrate it by showing the nation how much he loves his wife. And, to us, that’s awfully romantic. We were also touched by all the sweet things he said about her during his acceptance speech. Check out our favorite quotes–and let us know if we missed any!

“Michelle, I have never loved you more.”

“I wouldn’t be the man I am today without the woman who agreed to marry me 20 years ago.”

“Sasha and Malia, you are growing up to become two strong, smart, beautiful women, just like your mom.”
