Brad Pitt to Launch Art Deco Furniture Collection
Photo Credit: ZimbioOscar-nominated actor Brad Pitt is adding yet another job title to his resume: furniture designer. The longtime design enthusiast–who launched the Make It Right foundation in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina to help provide affected residents with affordable (and stylish) housing–collaborated with New Jersey designer Frank Pollaro to create the inventive collection.
Expect to see a dozen pricey items, including a glass-top side table with a metal base finished in 24-karat gold and a bed with a “lustrous tropical-hardwood frame that extends from its a gently curved headboard, along the floor, to a graceful arc that ends in a cantilevered bench,” according to a report in Architectural Digest. Limited quantities will be available; only nine of the beds will be made, for example.
For those of you with deep pockets, the furniture will be unveiled in New York City November 13 to 15; it can also be seen on Pitt-Pollaro.com, which launches on Sunday.
What do you think of Brad Pitt’s latest venture? Would you pay top dollar for Pitt-designed furniture?
