With all the celebrity splits and cheating scandals in the news, it’s easy to forget that lasting marriage does happen in Hollywood.  Denzel Washington and Pauletta Pearson, for example, have been married for nearly 30 years.  Although Washington recently joked that the longevity of his relationship can be attributed to keeping his mouth shut and doing everything his wife says, we think there’s a little more to the story. Perhaps the couple’s marriage is so successful because Pauletta’s not a celebrity (the couple met on set as extras, but Pearson gave up acting to raise the couple’s four children). Come to think of it, many of the celeb couples we love involve one person who isn’t famous.
