Nestie Tip of the Week: Freshen Up Your Home
There’s nothing like coming home after a long day and being greeted by a whiff of French vanilla or fresh lavender. Okay, being greeted by your honey is pretty nice, too, but a fresh-smelling house makes everything seem so crisp and clean.
Check out these tips from other Nesties on our Cleaning & Organizing message board to keep your home smelling like new.
“I make a freshening spray that I found online using cheap vodka, water and a few drops of lavender oil. It works like a charm.” –belovedbride07
“I like the Febreze Set & Refresh products. They last long and smell really good. My favorite scent is Hawaiian Aloha.” –MrsC430
“I burn Yankee Candle Tarts twenty-four hours a day in an electric wax burner. I change the tart once or twice a week.” –MMP
“I’ve always liked reed diffusers to give a nice scent but not be overwhelming.” –sagoon
“After spending so much money on candles and sprays I finally found a candle warmer. You just buy the wax for the top of them and they are the best. I do a warm apple and my home smells great.” – bruins8624
“Houseplants do wonders to clean the air in your home. Even little ones.” –KentuckyKate
“We open the windows and let the fresh air come in. Sometimes we get a fresh cut lawn smell. Or I will boil lemons in a pot and then let them simmer for an hour or two and my home smells really fresh.” –Monisestablished2012
“I usually use orange peels, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves and sometimes star anise. I let them simmer (with water of course) gently whenever I am home.” –xmaryrickx
