We Like To Watch: Fine, Kristen Wiig’s SNL Send-Off Made Me Cry
Did you watch the last skit of Saturday Night Live this weekend, in which the cast — and host Mick Jagger — each shared a final dance with Kristen Wiig during her musical goodbye sketch (to the tune of Ruby Tuesday, played by Arcade Fire).
I’ll admit it: I cried. It was emotional! And so cute — albeit kind of weird considering it was also the last episode for Jason Sudeikis and Andy Samberg (at least, I think so).
I’ve been a huge Kristen fan long before Bridesmaids put her on the map. So I decided to round up my five favorite Kristen Wiig SNL characters of all time as my own farewell to, let’s face it, the funniest cast member on the show.
Aunt Linda the movie reviewerFavorite quote: "Clash of the Titans? More like trash needs rewritin'."
Dooneese Maharelle, aka Baby Hands, on The Lawrence Welk ShowFavorite quote: "I put worms in my bed, and slept in my bed, and put a squirrel in my bed, and mustard in my bed, and then I ate 'em all, is that bad? A do doo do doo do doo doo..."
Kathie Lee Gifford on the Today ShowFavorite quote, to cohost Hoda Kotbe after she took a tumble on the set's makeshift runway: "Look out, we've got a Ho-down!"
Target LadyFavorite quote: "I'm going to use these to make socks for my cat."
Penelope the one-upperFavorite quote: "My best friends are Liza Minnelli and a tomato."
Did I miss any of your favorite characters? Let me know in the comments!
