Budget Tip of the Week: If You Can’t See It and You Can’t Touch it, You Won’t Spend It

In Jean Chatzky’s new book Money Rules: The Simple Path to Lifelong Security, she states that if you set up automatic deductions for anything you want to save for, you’re less likely to spend it. It pretty much follows that age-old mantra: Out of sight, out of mind. Seems simple, but you’d be surprised how much better off you start getting that money out of your checking account and into your 401K or delegated savings account.
